It looks like a space station in Mars, but it's just Casa da Música - a concert space and home of the National Orchestra of Porto, in Portugal. I took the visit tour inside of the contemporary building designed by Pritzker award winner, architect Rem Koolhaas, and got amazed by the constructive details - from inside and out - reminding me of 'Gattaca' and many other sci-fi films I love.
I hope you enjoy the little photoshoot below and comeback for an architecture dedicated post featuring the interior spaces.
Floor and exterior walls were covered with Italian Travertino Marble because it's look and texture relates/ recalls to a Portugal's iconic raw material: the cork. Again, the place could be easily used as a Science-Fiction movie set.
