Yes, everybody's talking about it. Even before launching, the new Prime Video film 'Saltburn' was promising to be a big controversial hit! After 2 hours of tension watching the movie, the final scene made me realize: ohh.. Relax, it's just a very British dark comedy!
Anyway, (I can't continue talking without giving spoilers, so if you haven't watched the movie yet, get out of here... please) it got me intrigued and questioning, what's the point of making bad guys dance in movies? Why are these scenes even on script? Are they really necessary? And most importantly, why they are all so good? haha... To get you to understand my point, I've selected my top 5 favorite bad (or not so much) guys dancing in movie scenes.
You know, I can't resist a bad guy...
5 - Channing Tatum in 'Magic Mike' (2012)
I know, Mike's not a bad guy, he's just lost...
4 - Matt Smith in 'Morbius' (2022)
Is this the best scene of the entire film? Sorry Jarred, I love you, but...
3 - Tom Cruise in 'Tropic Thunder' (2008)
I've watched this entire film without realizing it was Tom Cruise all of the time! So good!
2 - Barry Keoghan in 'Saltburn' (2023)
No comments... hahah..
1 - Joaquin Phoenix in Joker
When you just accept your true nature, or you get tired of being a victim of life. I can't say Phoenix is my favorite Joker, because Jack Nicholson will always have that place in my heart... By the way, Nicholson has a dance scene as Joker as well (with Kim Basinger) - I love the entire film that scene!
Am I missing any other dancing villains? Let me know!
