Batman's Day Special: Vicki Vale Fashion

It's Batman Day, everyone! You know I'm a fan and I will use the date as excuse to talk about one of my favorite films: Tim Burton's 'Batman' (from 1989) - again. Haha.. This time I will focus on a different character though: Vick Vale, a photojournalist with a very stylish outfit for every occasion that would make any fashion editor envy.

Played by stunning 80s muse Kim Basinger, Vicki's wardrobe draws attention with masculine-meets-feminine tailoring looks, timeless black turtleneck pieces and cool accessories like exaggerated glasses frames and oversized berets. Check out some of them and if you haven't yet, please go watch this cinema's classic!

'Batman', starring Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne was the first major superhero feature film that setup the D.C/Marvel cinema landscape as we know today. Directed by Tim Burton, the movie featured a killer soundtrack scored by Danny Elfman with original songs by Prince and made $411.3 million at the box office.

The red lips make a statement.

Bob Ringwood and Tony Dunsterville were the costume designers of the movie, but Linda Henrikson was the responsible for Ms Basinger's looks.

An iconic moment for costume design in movies...

The white flower off shoulder dress Vicki Vale wears for the charity ball at the Wayne's mansion.

This gown was made by Chelsea Design Company and constructed of a off white silk organza. The dress has ruffled shoulder straps, multiple button closures up the back of the gown, and is adorned with white fabric roses at the hem. It was sold in 2005 at a Christies Auction house.

Did you know? 'Batman' won an Oscar for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration.

By the way, Jack Nicholson is the best Joker... bye!
