King of Halloween

I should have created a pool before writing this one... In your opinion, who's the King of Halloween? Is it Johnny Depp? Tim Burton? Both? Well, for me, it's Nicolas Cage. At least, since the last few years, when the actor seems to have chosen to be in some "questionable" weird horror films. Actually, I don't like the genre and haven't watched much of these movies so please, don't take me wrong here.

Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite Capricorns actors and this post is much deserved. But as I was saying, terror and horror are not my type. My favorite films with Nick are 'Con Air' (I'm literally listening to Liam Rymes while writing. To me, it's the best one of his carreer and he's just looking his best ❤︎) and 'Face Off' (the best John Travolta's movie!), and also love 'The Rock' (with Sir Sean Connery) and 'Gone in 60 seconds' (with Angelina Jolie, who's is looking gorgeous with that blond dreads) - I could watch these movies over and over on repeat forever.

Anyway, it's Halloween and we need to update the movie guide for the special spooky night. Check it out:

Vampire's Kiss (1988)

Young Nicolas Cage crazy and screaming the way only he can do it! I liked this one.

After a night of passionate lovemaking in which he is bitten on the neck, a troubled literary editor becomes convinced that he is a vampire and begins to live the role. An American black comedy horror film directed by Robert Bierman.

Renfield (2023)

I've watched this one mostly because I saw Awkwafina was in it, so I knew I would laugh despite the darkness.

Renfield, the tortured aide to his narcissistic boss, Dracula, is forced to procure his master's prey and do his every bidding. However, after centuries of servitude, he's ready to see if there's a life outside the shadow of the Prince of Darkness. An American action comedy horror film directed by Chris McKay and written by Ryan Ridley, based on a story by Robert Kirkman.

Season of the Witch (2011)

Spoil alert: this is not a Lana Del Rey song... ;)

Behmen, a crusader, is ordered to transport an alleged witch to a remote abbey. During their journey, Behmen and the soldiers discover the woman's secret and know about the dangers that await them. 'Season of the Witch' is a 2011 American supernatural action-adventure film directed by Dominic Sena, written by Bragi Schut, and starring Nicolas Cage.

The Wicker Man (2006)

Based on the book 'Ritual' - a horror novel by British actor and author David Pinner, first published in 1967.

Edward reaches a private island to help his ex-fiancee find her missing girl. The community she lives in follows an odd cult and he must locate the girl before she is killed in the name of sacrifice. A horror film written and directed by Neil LaBute.

Ghost Rider (2007)

Stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the Devil to save his father. Years later, the Devil returns and gives Johnny special powers so he can destroy Blackheart, the Devil's son. 'Ghost Rider' is a 2007 American superhero film written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

Mandy (2018)

Starring Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouéré with Richard Brake and Bill Duke. Directed by Panos Cosmatos.

Pacific Northwest. 1983 AD. Outsiders Red Miller and Mandy Bloom lead a loving and peaceful existence. When their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand, Red is catapulted into a phantasmagoric journey filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire.

Color Out of Space (2019)

OMG! I hated this one.. I had no idea what it was about when I was watching and I couldn't believe the way it turned out. Hahah.. But, as I've said - it's the genre.

A story of cosmic terror about The Gardners, a family who moves to a remote farmstead in rural New England to escape the hustle of the 21st century: When a secluded farm is struck by a strange meteorite, the family residing there faces apocalyptic consequence which marks the beginning of the world's end.

A science fiction Lovecraftian horror film directed and co-written by Richard Stanley, based on the short story "The Colour Out of Space" by H. P. Lovecraft.
